Daily Ritual Leads to New Opportunities

Wow, it’s December! This year I made a conscious decision to work on myself and to live each day with intention. One thing I did was at the end of each day, I would reflect on all the good moments and wins of the day.

By doing this daily practice, I became more aware of my surroundings and the impact and value of a single day — from whom I interacted with, to what I saw and heard throughout the day. I notice all the opportunities around me and realize they are there to help me grow and improve. They were always there, but before doing my daily end-of- the-day reflection, I would have totally missed them. I’m now constantly looking at the little things and how I can be thankful for everything I experience. I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for my life and those around me.

At the beginning of this year, I wrote about feeling optimistic and excited for the future and how it felt as though a lot of things were finally falling into place. As I reflect on this year while noticing the opportunities around me, below are some doors that opened up.

One day while my family was out shopping, I heard a conversation near us about someone needing medical help. I introduced myself and learned one of them is a director of an organization of medical professionals, who helps all patients regardless of their financial situation. They also provide dental service and it turns out they were in need of a lab to help them. Giving and helping those in need is something I highly value, so working with an amazing organization like this has been extremely rewarding. I’m looking forward to the many lives we’ll be able to help.

On top of connecting with new dentists from that chance meeting with the director, I made a connection with another new doctor while helping my wife’s friend. She needed a night guard made, however she was not sure if my lab could accept her dentist’s digital impression scan or if her doctor would be willing to use a different lab. I talked to her dentist and walked him through how to upload the 3Shape TRIOS scan to my lab. I did this just to help and did not expect anything in return — he now switched over to my lab for all his night guard cases.

One of my doctors just purchased the iTero scanner to provide Invisalign to their patients. Her purchase worked out perfect for her, as she can also use the scanner to send digital scans for her crown and bridge work, night guards, and retainers to my lab. It’s been great helping my doctor learn and get used to using the iTero scanner. I’ve been working with her iTero Invisalign rep and already have a great partnership with my iTero laboratory rep. This new connection with iTero has opened up opportunities to meet new doctors who are using iTero.

I understand how busy you are everyday with running your practice, managing your team, and most importantly, providing the best service to your patients. I commend you for wearing many hats while staying updated on new trends and advancements in the dental field.
